A wonderful, friendly place. I had an extraction done and everyone really helped make me feel as comfortable as possible. Dental work usually is NOT a pleasant experience for me, but First Choice comes close to making it so.
There was an old lady at the front desk who was seriously racist. I'm Asian and she was very rude to me. When I paid in cash, she said that I needed to have the exact amount and she didn't have any chance to give me it. She told me to bring a credit card next time and that they didn't want to accept cash... While I was looking at the bill, she asked me to leave her counter and go to the hall to look at it. Staff is very nice and welcoming! I am not giving 5 because it is ridiculous to pay $126 just for a consultation, not even a 3 minute appointment. Doctor already had my X-ray from the other clinic and all the he did in the 3 minute was taping my tooth asking if i felt any pain, which was done from the other doctor at the other cleaning.
I had a good visit today at the Park Street location. Everyone was friendly and very competent and communicative. My only issue is the turnover among the dentists. I had an appointment with a new dentist but he has moved on to somewhere else. Dr. Kim was great but she’s moving to the DeForest location in December. The care has been very good. Not so sure about how the whole operation is being managed. Too much turnover for me.
For a year I have been going to First Choice on Regent for dental cleanings. Great service. Had to go to the Park St. office for specialist work. Checked in at the front desk where this old woman read me the riot act when she found out I had the First Choice Preventive plan and a Dental supplemental plan. She stated Preventive plan was only for people without dental insurance. She then canceled my preventive plan. Very unpleasant person and I decided right then I am never going to first choice again.
